Astrophysics iCore HPC cluster structure and componnets

Analysis Nodes

Used for analysis purposes.
Node names: astroan-[005-016].
10 nodes with 2 Intel Xeon CPUs E5-2643 @ 3.30GHz, 4 cores per CPU, 64GB RAM of memory and 1TB hard disks each.
A total of 80 cores and 640GB of memory for the analysis nodes group.
This group is connected to a 1GB network.

Computation Nodes

Used for parallel computing.
All nodes are connected by an InfiniBand network.
This group has a total of 96 nodes comprised of three different servers.

Node names: astrow1-[001-044].
44 nodes with 2 Intel Xeon CPU E5-2670 @ 2.60GHz, 8 cores per CPU, 64GB RAM of memory and 1TB hard disks each.
Total of 704 cores and 2816GB of memory.

Node names: astrow2-[001-036].
36 nodes with 2 Intel Xeon CPU E5-2660 v3 @ 2.60GHz, 10 cores per CPU, 64GB RAM of memory and 1TB hard disks each.
Total of 720 cores and 2304GB of memory.

Node names: astrow3-[001-012].
12 nodes with 2 Intel Xeon CPU E5-2650 v4 @ 2.20GHz, 12 cores per CPU, 256GB RAM of memory and 1TB hard disks each.
Total of 288 cores and 3072GB of memory.

Total cores and memory for computation nodes: 1712 cores and 8192GB of memory.

InfiniBand Network

6 switches of Mellanox SX6025 36 FDR (56Gb/s) ports.

GPU Nodes

Node names: astrogp-001, astrogp-002.
Server model: Dell PowerEdge R730 with 2 Intel Xeon CPU E5-2670 v3 @ 2.30GHz, 12 cores per CPU, 128GB RAM of memory and 1TB hard disk.
GPU model: Two NVidia Tesla K40 GPU cards, 2880 processor cores, 12GB GGDR5 SDRAM.
