System-Support tool

Introduction

CS System Group installed brand new helpful tool to help to all users to interact with system group for quick solving any hardware / software bugs.




Usage:

From console, just type:

   system-support

or "syste" + TAB. And full path to this program is:

   /cs/share/scripts/system-support

In field "Subject" type an subject of you message or short bug description. By pressing TAB button on keyboard You move to editor field where You able to write about You bugs or some fun story. When You finish press "Alt+S" or click "Send" button to send message to system group and then confirm by pressing "Alt+S" or discard with "Alt+N".



Creating icon in system panel:


With XFCE:

There is two options to create new button in XFCE.

Option one: If You make some changes to panel so You need to launch reinstall script from console, then type "Yes" and "Enter" and choose "2" to reinstall xfce4.

Another Option: For manual installation follow this five steps:

1. Click on system panel with right mouse button and choose "+ Add New Item".

2. In new window from "Available Items" choose "Launcher" and click with mouse to "+ Add" button at bottom of window.

3. You will see new window named "Program Launcher". Type some text in fields "Name" and "Description" or leave it.

  By default, name is "System Support" and description is "Send support request to system@cs"

4. Choose some icon. We assumed this icon:

  /cs/share/skel/system.ico

5. In "Command" line just type

  system-support

, or insert full path to script

  /cs/share/scripts/system-support

If all be done, when you click to this new item you will see new window with text editor.




With KDE:

Follow this steps:

1. Click with right mouse button on system panel and choose from pop-up menu "Add Application to Panel", follow to sub-menu and click on "Add Non-KDE Application". 2. In raised window type in field "Button title:" "System Support" and "Description:" is "Send support request to system@cs" 3. In field "Executable:" type

  system-support

, or insert full path to script

  /cs/share/scripts/system-support

4. Click on icon and in new window named "Select Icon - KDE Panel" check "Other icons:", click "Browse" and in field "Location:" type:

  /cs/share/skel/system.ico

Click "Open", then click "Ok"

If all be done, when you click to this new item you will see new window with text editor.
