One can set up a personal homepage in directory www under one's home directory.
For example, if your login is crazy then file page.html in your www directory (~/www/page.html) can be accessed as http://www.cs.huji.ac.il/~crazy/page.html.
File index.html or index.php can be accessed as just http://www.cs.huji.ac.il/~crazy.

If it does not already exists, first create directory www with command:

mkdir ~/www

and then do:

chmod 755 ~/www

to make the directory world-viewable.
If you have not changed your umask from its default setting of 033, you will have to do chmod 755 also on every directory that you create under www.
(If you have changed the default permissions of your home directory, you may have to do chmod 755 ~.)

  • PHP is supported (but in Safe Mode).
  • There is no Automatic directory indexing.
  • Symbolic links are respected only to files that you own.
